Soapstone Wax

Keep your soapstone looking rich, natural, and beautifully maintained with Johnson Granite’s food-safe Soapstone Wax. Made from all-natural waxes and oils, this easy-to-apply formula helps enhance the depth and character of the stone while helping minimize the appearance of everyday wear and small scratches. Designed for long-lasting performance, just one application can keep your surfaces looking refreshed for months to come.

Caring for Soapstone

Soapstone is naturally nonporous, making it one of the most low-maintenance natural stone surfaces available. Unlike many other materials, it does not require sealing. Over time, soapstone naturally develops a rich patina that adds depth and character to the surface. The stone will gradually darken from a soft gray to a deeper charcoal tone, while minor scuffs and scratches contribute to the timeless, lived-in look that makes soapstone so unique.

Occasional application of an approved oil or wax can help enhance the natural beauty of the stone, deepen its color, and minimize the appearance of everyday wear. With simple routine care, soapstone continues to age beautifully for years to come.

I’ve tried mineral oil, cutting board wax (mineral oil and beeswax), Clark’s soapstone wax and Johnson Granite's Soapstone Wax. After 2 applications with a few weeks in-between, Johnson’s wins hands down. I’m really pleased with the results. Over time I think it will get to the point of one or two application a year and less after that. I am really pleased with your wax!
