Johnson Granite was founded in 2000 by Larry Johnson and Brian Johnson, whose roots in the stone industry go back generations in Mount Airy, North Carolina, a town long known for its rich granite heritage. Growing up surrounded by the industry, the Johnson family developed a deep appreciation for craftsmanship, hard work, and the importance of building lasting relationships within their community.


What began as a small family operation with just three employees soon became a shared family vision. Alongside Larry and Brian, Mrs. Linda Johnson stepped in to help support and grow the company from the very beginning. Built on quality craftsmanship, exceptional service, and a commitment to treating customers like family, Johnson Granite quickly earned a reputation for both the quality of its work and the relationships built along the way.

Through years of dedication, innovation, and a commitment to doing things the right way, Johnson Granite has grown into one of the region’s leading countertop specialists. Today, the company proudly serves homeowners, builders, designers, dealers, and commercial partners across North Carolina and Virginia.


While much has changed over the years, the heart of the company remains the same. Johnson Granite continues to be family-owned and operated, with a team that believes the experience is just as important as the finished project. From the first showroom visit to final installation, the goal has always been to create a process that feels approachable, personal, and built around each customer’s needs.


Now with multiple locations and a team of more than 100 employees, Johnson Granite combines advanced technology, experienced craftsmanship, and personalized service to help bring every vision to life. Even as the company continues to grow, the values it was founded on remain at the center of everything we do: treating people like family, standing behind our work, and creating spaces that will be enjoyed for years to come.
